About Us
Curry Freeze has been in Rotterdam doing business for over 50 years. We are located at 1057 Curry Road. The current building has been in its location since 1984. Previously Curry Freeze was located a few buildings west of where it now resides.
My family has been in the ice cream business for over 20 years. The opportunity to own a business with a good reputation and strong community support was well worth the sacrifices my family has made. Being familiar with both the area and type of business helped make the transition smooth. The community support for Curry Freeze has been terrific. We have come to know many of the regular customers and look forward to meeting new people every day.
Some of the favorite items requested are Only 8, low calorie – low sugar dessert treat, fresh homemade ice cream cakes, and our own recipe Sherbets, homemade hard ice cream, and Italian Ices
Making our own Sherbets and Italian Ices is a unique feature of the store. Our Flavorburst machine can twist multiple flavors on a cone like a rainbow. Our homemade cakes to order have a real cake bottom in addition we make cakes to order and can transfer any picture onto the cake.
There are a number of local teams and events we sponsor. We have teams in the Rotterdam Girls Softball league, Rotterdam Little League, and Rotterdam Babe Ruth League. There have been a number of events we have sponsored as well including the annual Rotterdam PBA golf tournament, and the Elk’s annual car show.
The best thing about owning Curry Freeze is hearing stories from parents who came to Curry Freeze when they were young and are now continuing the tradition by bringing their children for ice cream. It is enjoyable knowing people consider Curry Freeze “a place to meet” and use us as a landmark when giving directions to other local attractions. We also enjoy supporting the different community events that make Rotterdam a great place to do business.
The biggest challenge with the business is making sure we exceed our customer’s expectations every time they visit. We want people to come to Curry Freeze and make their experience with us an enjoyable one. Providing excellent customer service and an environment that is clean and safe is our constant goal. On behalf of myself, my wife Jane, our daughter Alexandra, and our son Evan we would like to thank our customers and the Rotterdam community for their support. We want everyone to know we are committed to keeping Curry Freeze the place people come for ice cream in Rotterdam. If there is an item not on our menu we will do the best we can to satisfy each request. We also welcome feedback from our customers in order to continue to improve the quality of our products and our service.
